1) What does the Hearts program entail?
The Hearts program, is the competitive side of the GSL. Tryouts are are hosted to select the top players for each age division. After which practices take place with the selected team with ganes in the EOSL and/or festivals/tournaments.
2) How many practices are there? Essentially what is the time commitment required for joining Hearts?
Most teams practice minimum all spring and summer with one practice a week. After which league consists of one game a week where festivals and tournaments depend on management and how many they choose to book.
Practices can be more than once a week and some teams practice over the winter.
3) How much does it cost?
It really varies. Its more expensive in the beginning for startup fees l, such as kits and jerseys. I charge $350 played one tournament, league and bought jerseys, kits. I plan to refund $100 each. All money not spent is refunded.
4) Where do they travel for games? Are there tournaments?
They travel all over ottawa. Perth and Kingston are also possibilities.
Tournaments and festivals are all decided upon by the coaches and management. A league team can play none or as many as they choose. This will also increase costs.
A festival or tournament team plays as many as the coach and management decide.
